AC low pressure switch problem!
AC low pressure switch problem!
I'm having an unusual problem with my AC. On the low pressure sensor that is on the accumulator, the connector that plugs into it is messed up. My cutch on my compressor won't engage unless I take this connector and pull on it a bit. I've bent the prongs and they're definately making contact, but something inside this connector is messed up. It's starting to get hot here in Oklahoma and I'd like to get the AC going! So, until I can get over to buy a new connector, can I simply snip the wires and use some connectors and connect them directly to the sensor on the accumulator? Is there a diode in this connector? Thanks! Matt

There is no diode in that circuit. In the AC system the only diode is across the compressor to shunt inductive spikes caused by the clutch coil. You can use any connector that fits, but I would replace it with a weatherpack replacement pigtail assy when you get time.
I tried the same thing your talking about and all i got from it was a code 15 ( coolant sensor) only to find out that for some reason it was shorting the 5 volt line and only gm knows why they would run a coolant sensor a map sensor and an a/c switch of the same line but funny when a code 15 comes up at work thats the first thing i check is the a/c pressure switch and most times its it that screws everything up
