180 thermostat

I bought a Mr.Gasket 180 thermostat and an original GM gasket.
The installlation instructions say to use gasket sealer on the new gasket.
But there is already some kind of silicon sealer on both sides of the new gasket.
Should I put gasket sealer on it anyway?

I dont even use a gasket on that I only use gasket sealer and never had a problem. You can use gasket sealer on all your gaskets and it will only do em good. just dont put too much on.
