Flush a block?
Ive had my car since April, 2000 and wasnt the best about flushing the system... (305 TPI) Each summer here in cali, my car gets a bit hotter than the summer before, and now, Im about to get a world of hurt if I dont find this problem now...
My setup:
New water pump
New Thermostat (160)
New 3 Row Radiator
Fans hardwired.. (dual fans)
My car used to run no hotter than 180ish, and never over 170 on the freeway, A/C on or not...
Now, without the A/C on and BOTH FANS on in traffic, it will get up to 200-210 in 75* weather, or 100* weather... strange..
I know that my radiator is working since I can stick my finger in the cap side of the radiator and not burn myself. Before I did the change, I had a very sludgy and rusted radiator... big globs of junk came out of it, so I can only imagine that there are flow issues inside my block seeing as I havent flushed it, and this may be the source of my cooling issues.
What do you suggest I use to flush the block.. (radiator is new, so im only concerned with the block), and what procedure do you reccomend? Im hoping to get this cleaned as good as possible short of a rebuild!
Ideas?
