Overheating problem possibly, 89 Firebird w/350

Buying an 89 Firebird Formula from one of my friends this week, it originally came with a 5.0 which was swapped out for a 5.7 TPI Vette motor. Well, there is a slight overheating problem.. I am guessing it's because the radiator was meant for the 5.0 and the 5.7 just generates too much heat for the stocker?

What do you recomend? New radiator? and if so, which do you recomend?

Thanks

they should be the same radiator. meaning same year 305 verse 350 engine. so as long as that doesnt leak it sounds like something else is the problem.

what thermostat does the engine have? 180 is a pretty good choice.

overheat on the highway? could be a collapsing lower hose, or no airdam

overheating in traffic? fan(s) might not be coming on.

proper mixture of coolant / water.

After reading around in here (something I should have done from the start with more attention ) I am going to double check the hoses, fans, and the coolant. When I get the car and bring it in for new front tires and front brake pads I'm going to have all the fluids flushed and have everything checked out. Been bringing my cars to this shop since I had a car and my dads been bringing his vehicles there since before I was born, so I know i can trust em, besides, I do computer work for him, so if he screws me over, well that computer aint getten him anywhere anymore either Anyway!
The air dam would be that plastic guard on the bottom up front by the radiator? If thats it she has one. Looks in good shape too.
