supercharged 86 iroc running hot

i have a 86 iroc supercharged camaro and i cant get it to run cool.
i put high performance alluminum radiator, double electric fans, 160 thermostat, new belts but nothing is working...
i dont know much about the supercharger at all. i think that the supercharger is causeing this running hot problem..
it runs anywhere from 220-260 degrees.. and it kicks the check engine light on...
any help or information would be greatfull

what brand and size HP radiator, what PSI cap, what brand/type electric fans push/pull? do you know the stat is good?-we've literally gone in spells where the 3 or 4th one would acutally work.

Are you running the combo too lean? timing too retarded/advanced?

These will also make an engine run too warm.

Start w/ the easiest/most common things first:

1)Water in system? (1 second w/ cold engine 10 seconds to grab towell to put over cap w/ warm engine)
2)Radiator Cap working correctly (30 seconds at part store)
3)Water pump working correctly (varies: look under the car, make sure no water leaking down, wiggle the pulley on water pump, it should be absolutely solid and not wiggle at all)
-you never mentioned wether your water pump was working right, so check this.

now the harder stuff:
-A/F mixture, if your car is overheating now that you put a supercharger on, then this is most likely the culprit imo, you don't want it too lean and you don't want it too rich - this isnt a 2 stroke engine:too rich=harder on engine.
-Thermostat is opening at correct temp (15 minutes, sometimes its easier just to replace than test the current one)
-Timing (10-15 minutes)

all these times are if you have never done them before, so if you know what your doing you'll breeze right through. I cant really think of any other possibilities off the top of my head. If you have a leak then your water should be low or will be low pretty soon. You may also want to check to make sure adequate water is flowing through your new radiator, just squeeze the hoze going into engine and you should feel a decent amount of pressure/water flowing through. Also w/ engine off you can SOMETIMES take the radiator cap off and then squeeze the same hose and listen for pressure/bubbling etc, again I'm not sure how your radiator is designed but it only takes like 5 seconds.

also you never said wether the fans you put on were working or not and how much air they move...

ohh yea... you may also want to try a flush, although if you just put the new radiator on (i would hope you used new fluid ) then your probally fine.

Throw some Water Wetter or Purple Ice in the radiator.
