Reverse vs. Std. rotation water pump Pros/Cons

In my on going search for a pulley system for my '92 Z, I have had zero luck finding a low mount system that incorporates ONLY the crank, wp, ps, and alt....where the alt would mount on the passenger's side.
Anyways, this seems to be mainly due to the fact that the water pump is reverse rotation. I know if I had a std. rotation pump I'd have no worries.
I have a brand new polished Stewart stage 2 pump right now, that I'm hesitant to get rid of, but I also have a Miniram that I made a custom 3.5" intake for instead of 4" like I wanted due to space limitations of the the pulleys, and the damn thermo. housing. If I was able to get the low mount pulley system to work, then I would have the space to get a different thermo. housing, and also go with a 4" intake and get rid of the AC delete pulley.
Anyways....does anyone know the pros/cons of the reverse pump vs. the standard rotation one? I'm curious if it was developed mainly for ease of serpentine belt routing or if there are more reasons?

Thanks,
- Joel

It's only for belt routing. With V belts, the water pump turns the same direction as the crank. With a serpentine belt it turns in the opposite direction.

you might be able to send your waterpump off and get the impeller changed?
cost a few bucks, but same some hassle.
