Temp Guage not working

I just bought an 89 GTA and all of the gauges work except the temp. which is the one i want to work the most. When i got the car it would stay at 0 degrees then it would sometime peg, and when i hit rough road it would start to swing back and forth, now it stopped bouncing and remains at zero. I am not sure where the sensor for it is located. i did find a loose wire but not sure if thats it, any information as to were it is located would be great, pictures would help alot more tho, the engine is a 350 TPI btw.thanks

The sending unit for the temp gauge is in the driver's side head between the 1st and 3rd spark plugs, actually just below.Should be a single green lead going to it.It sounds like your problem may just be a loose connection.

if the guage is bouncing around i would almost think that the sending unit is bad, when i disconect mine the guage just sits at 0

I just replaced the sensor in my car to no avail. If the wire is ok and the sensor has been replaced try taking off the cluster cover and touch the temp needle. That is what i just went thru the past weekend and i did all above then I touched the needle and the darn thing just woke up.
