wheres is coolant going?

I cant see any coolant cant smell any coolant!!! Its not inside my car not outside/underneath not out exhaust wheres it going? My oil isnt milky!! I did a pressure test and found that bypass hose started to leak so i fixed that and then i couldnt see any other leaks. I drove it home and was alil hard on it and then the next day i had to top it off!!?? and i have to top off all the time.. car runs strong with a lil vibration at idle (missing???)and the revs kinda stay up/ take alil bit to come down (vacume leak???) but nothing extreme and noticeable.. any clues
----------
oh its a 91 z28 tpi 5.0 5 speed

yeah could someone explain this, i drive a z28 5.0 and i also am having to top off the coolant tank alot. but the problem with me is that i can smell the coolant, it smells as if it were coming through the vents or atleast the smell goes through, and when it gets hot, i can smell it more. im thinking **** is it mixing with the oil in the car? but i think i would feel the loss in power dont you think? hopefully its not the headgasket or anything, but im not seeing the leak anywhere

10 t0 1 says that your heater core is leaking. That is why you can smell it inside your car. I bet your passenger carpet is wet, or that your car smells like a wet towel, if you let it sit for a while.

Re: wheres is coolant going?

i had an elusive coolant loss that i found was a leaking heater diverter valve . its the plastic valve with 3 coolant and 1 vacuum lines going to it on the rt. side of eng. bay . check also all heater lines , most of all the one from the manifold close to the distributer . if your lucky , it will not be the heater core .

I think uncle tom is right for dspenser, especially if you think you have a vaccum leak too. It is at the top of the motor and most of the fluid would burn off before it hit the ground. But, if you can smell it in the cockpit from the vents, then it is likely a heater core. Have fun with that one. Not expensive, but a big pain in the @**!

Dspenser24, check your coolant recovery tank for leaks. I had to keep adding coolant to mine and found a crack in the bottom of the tank by mistake. I cleaned it up and used some epoxy on the crack and so far so good.
