could it be overheating?

im not sure if its because i just rebuilt my carb or if its overheating thats causing it to run this way. After i drive for a while, my car starts to run really bad. i mean like when i push the gas from a complete stop it either dies, or comes really close to dying. when it gets bad i even have to sit at the light holding the break down and hold the gas down constantly until it turns green then just let off the brake so it doesnt die. and if it does die its a pain to get restarted. I thinkit might be overheating because i decided to check my fluids since it just started getting hot out again, and the antifreeze was empty and the hose had no pressure in it. i put some in and it ran a little better, didn't die quite as easily. I know my radiator has a leak in it, so thats why it was empty. but it started running like that again the other day so i figured it was the same thing. i opened the hood, sure enough no pressure in the hose..so i took the cap off to put more in..and it sprayed, and actually was still full.(this is at warmed up running temp btw) i just put a new thermostat in recently. and im not even sure if my heat gauge works anymore it never rises, thats why i dont know if its overheating. what do you think

Because it was low on coolant there’s no telling how hot it got.

Repair or replace the radiator before serious damage is done.

And, true, you don’t know the accuracy of the temp gage, therefore test them, however fix the radiator first.

Happy Racing!
