Re: cooling fan question

There is a relay on the passenger side of the radiator. Dont just toss in a switch because without a relay you will burn it up.

Re: cooling fan question

you have a single fan on the car?
Relay locations are (depending on car):
1. Drivers Side Firewall near the Fuel pump Relay
2. Pass Side Fender next to overflow resevoir
3. next to radiator on pass side.

Re: cooling fan question

If your fan works when you switch on the AC, your relay is fine. Often the fan switch that triggers the relay is the problem

Re: cooling fan question

If you're sure you don't want to try and fix the stock fan system and are determined to put in a switch for manual operation look here https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cool...wont-turn.html and go to NINA's post for diagrams of safe ways towire it up

Re: cooling fan question

i fixxed it and the ac fan is working on the same circuit with the cooling fan so they both lost voltage at the same time.i rewired everything from the fans to the fuse box and a ghetto relay. running smooth again.

I have a single fan and have both # 1 and # 2...does this seem normal?

Do they both control the 1 fan?
On the firewall, there can be up to 3 relays. I am not at home to look at my manuals, but 1 would be fuel pump, 1 would be maf, and the other would be the fan, or one of the fans.

On my 88 my relays are in position 2 and 3.
On my friends 91 V6 Camaro with a single fan it was on the firewall.
