If you can get the 3 core to fit in there you might as well opt for that.

what are your plans for future upgrades? you may not need to get the biggest rad out there if you're not planning on pushing things too much further. also, try out some water wetter; it does help lower temps down 5-10 degrees. when's the last time you changed your coolant?

If you are seeing the higher temps in town/redlights rather than on the highway, I'd say save the cash and try a lower temp fan switch.
Or, get a seperate adjustable fan controller. I use a Flex-a-lite controller, works really well - fully adjustable from 160 - 220 fan on temps, easy to wire, probes radiator instead of the head, has provisions for A/C, manual on/off switches and it starts the fan(s) at 65% of power so there's no huge amp draw on initial startup - a truly great product. Pricey at $100, but worth every penny - mine's been installed 4+ years now with no issues at all!

210 - 220 is average for these cars. Guage might be off as well if stock guage - not too many 3rd gens have accurate guages anymore after all these years.
But as mentioned - if it makes you happy, get the biggest rad that you can afford and that will fit - can never go wrong with better radiators right?
