L03 PCM swap
Im looking to tune my motor and it seems that updating the ecm is a good idea due to the slow data rate on the stock tbi ecm.
Right, ive done some research and from what i can find the 16168625 PCM was fitted to some trucks with the L03 and a manual box though with different rear gears. Seems the closest match ive found so far for a straight swap and run, which is what im looking for initially. So this has led me to the following bccs:
BDUN, BHMK or BDUP, BHML
Trouble is i cant find the damn things anywhere, people keep mentioning the diy-efi ftp site. Well i cant get it to work just says there's an error. looked on some other sites and nothing. Anyone know where i can find these, would have thought they would be popular with u guys on here since they are the only bins for the L03 and manual trans which would fire straight up on the tbi cars....

Re: L03 PCM swap
Are you doing this swap so you can control your transmission controller ?

Stick with the 746 and solder in a g2 from moates if your staying tbi and just want to work on the engine tune.

Re: L03 PCM swap
Wow that was super quick reply, thanks for the link, i searched on that site before but seems didnt come up with that post. The AZPH bin does look promising and the file description matches up my bcc list. Thanks for solving my problem!!!! Im upgrading due to the slow baud rate on the original ecm, plus the new one has larger tables which may well help. I looked at the G2 link, ive seen this before its a ZIF adapter to make it easier to swap chips over, right? Im planning to stick Nvsram on there and run the whole bin from it or at least the tables id need to change. Burning chips is for cavemen

Re: L03 PCM swap
I'm kinda in the same boat as purplehaze. Took my 91rs to get dyno tuned. Numbers were pretty disappointing. The tuner couldn't control fuel past 3600 and power would breakup at 5k. He suggested to do a ecu swap from a tpi. Tpi ecu is tunable past 6k i guess. I'm new to this stuff and need a lot of help. What is a good swap that has good tuning ability and if there's a diagram of what wires I needa change. Mines is a 1228746.
