Best ECM upgrade for stock 1982 Corvette with Crossfire Injection

Hello, first thanks for your help! I have a good customer who has this Vette and the ECM is bad. I want to upgrade to the best ECM for his stock motor. The goal being to have an increase in power and good drivability/idle quality. I'm a master tech so can do wiring/programming if needed! Thanks Dr Rob The Car Doctor over and out...

The last X-Fire 'Vette I did, I put a '7747 into it. You will lose the owl vent control though. Going with the '7747 allows for GM diagnostics, gets rid of teh edge card connectors, and are pretty plentiful.

There are other options, but it would depend on your definition of "better" if they would be better for the application than the '7747.

I first converted my Xfire to a 7747, but if u think of upgrading power, EBL is the way to go. 13.3@104.3mph.

I second the EBL upgrade. I have one on my 82 with lots of mods.

Re: Best ECM upgrade for stock 1982 Corvette with Crossfire Injection

Looking desperately for an ECM for my 1982 Vette, or a lay explanation of the best possible upgrade for it. I'm being told by my mechanic that ECMs for the 82 are very difficult to find, so would like to know if anyone has a good, reliable resource for them. Or, is there something else I should be doing instead of an 82 ECM. Is there an upgrade or alternative I should be doing? Thanks much

See discussion above. Most of us with engine upgrades have moved on to the EBL computer sold at www.dynamicefi.com

The owner is a frequent poster here (RBob) and the group can collectively help you with the tune.
