ecm 1228838 vs 1228746

I know the 8838 was used for 89 TPI and the 8746 was for the 92 TBI camaros. If I'm swapping from TBI to TPI do I need to swap ecms and if I do what all else may be envolved?

if you're going to 90-92 TPI, you'll need a 1227730 ecm.

I have a spare 7730 from my old camaro I had. I was just thinking the 8838 would be an easier swap. I'll have to dig into it a little more then.

depends if you're after a MAP or MAF system. 7730 is the MAP system.

I think you can re-pin the TBI harness to the 7730. Do a search as I think it's been done numerous times before.

The '8838 ECM is used in 3.1l TBI mini-vans and trucks.
