Well last night while putting a CAI on my car my father decided to come over and watch and while doing so noticed (cob web) inside of my MAF sensor. After putting the car back together and changing my inj. i got a MAF low reading
Then he told be about the cob webs WHICH WAS THE HEATED WIRE.
So cant think of a better time to go to SD than now, even tho i hate to w/all the new MAF discussion evolving from alot of good MAF tuners.
Any good advice for me being ive been learning on MAF?
been reading trax's STICKY POST and numerous others i have saved.

 

I'm switching to sd bc my maf is going bad.What I have learnd is that its way more easy to get the fuel right for a given rpm/load.Maf seems to be very limited compared to sd,tuning wise.Go for it,we'll jump together.

I'll be in the SD boat as soon as I can find a stock (used?) SD harness at a reasonable price

 

It may not be pretty or correct or cool, but you could get a harness from a V6 PFI app. Add a couple more inj. plugs, change the dist. plugs, and do some repinning. The wires are usually not the same colors but with the donor cars wiring diagram and the app. you intend to run diagram, you can easily figure it out. It cost me less than $20 at a local U-pick salvage yard. This is DIY after all.

 

Harness for what?You just need to repin the existing ecm connectors and add one connector.All the wires are already exist in the maf harness.The maf sensor wires can be used for the map.Repinning is very easy vs removing and installing a harness.I have thought the same thing about a v6 harness.If I ever need an harness the v6 would work.I think you would only have to add one injector per side,maf plug is diff too.But if you have tpi now then just repin the existing harness.
