Glenn

I posted this because there is no private way to contact you. Last year you implied that MAT (for 165 ecm)was doing more than just egr control, yes? If so then could you explain?

Which ECM? If the 730 then I already covered it in the post on fueling.

Where is the implication about MAT ('165 ECM) controlling anything but EGR enable? I remember reading the threads last year, but I only remember that tuning/recalibrating the MAT was only important for EGR.

Anyone?

The 58 code gives you meaningful MAT corrections, but that's 730/749 stuff. Maybe a look at the Australian 808 stuff might be helpful, for the 165, thou just off hand I don't remember it using the MAT.

Glenn, you have not responded. I hope you are ok. When I started prom burning you was the guy that made me feel comfortable. To be honest, I really looked up to you....

I really wonder what happened

For MAF systems, the theory is that air temperature is compensated in the MAF reading itself. If the sensor is, in fact, sensing *mass* of air, this make sense. In speed density systems, we need to know temperature to determine the mass of air via calculation rather than direct measurement.

Are you sure? I thought you said something like" there is more going on than just EGR control", or something like that. The comment really stuck out to me. Maybe I misunderstood.
