disableing IAC (sort of)?
My old car did not have an IAC on the TBI, on this car i made the IAC all the way out and unpluged it, and I like the way it runs much better....
Question 1
Is throttle follower directly related to, or only the only thing that controlls the IAC? I have read the warnings on setting your TF to low and the blades snaping shut and bending push rods or whatever... would eliminating the TF be the same as unpluging the IAC? cause i ran with out one in my 350 for about 2 years and I drove it hard with no problems at all.
Question 2
How can I simulate that my IAC is unpluged except durring start up? Is it possible?

someone will have to chime in with TBI specifics, but the IAC is controlled by a number of things:
stall saver (rapid opening to prevent a stall)
idle control (slower movement to control idle in desired range)
startup (iac is opened up to make for easier start)
throttle follower (as you mentioned)
I don't know about your calibration or TBI, but on a SD TPI setup you can adjust the throttle follower gains and limits and such to make it work exactly how you want it to work, and it's really nice. I know some folks like to disable it and remove it, but if you have the ability to control it, it's really a useful thing.
I can't imagine you'd run into any valvetrain problems/pushrod problems no matter what you do with the IAC (well, as long as you don't remove it and spray nitrous in the hole.......)

If the RPM dips only when moving slowly and releasing the throttle (and coming to stops <10mph, like parking-lot), what parameter needs to be changed?

reply there or start a new thread.
but to take a stab at your question, you probably need to slow down the IAC speed by adding more time between the steps, as it's probably responding too quickly and overshooting. and you might need to reduce the gain.

NO hijacking my posts!
I just wanna use IAC to start the car, after that go to 0 steps and stay there no matter what.
Can I do it?

Should be able to: set the TF max steps to 0, and set the desired idle speed at 100 RPM. I think there is another setting for low battery volts, will also need to set that low.
Try that and see how it is.
