Need Some HELP!.....
Need Some HELP!.....
I have been searching on here and tweaking an trying to figure it out, but I still havn't got this thing figured out. I have been working with the TunerPRo software to try and tweak the ANZA bin to work with my 89 305/Auto TPI and I have all the air/fuel/ timing table figured out. It really runs great now, what a difference a tune makes, took me months to read, tweak, read, tweak, but its running good. My problem is I cannot get the TCC lock up to work properly. I have it locking up now, but as soon as it shifts from 3 to 4, it unlocks, it unlcoks if you give it light gas, its just not tuned properly. Does anyone know where I should be really looking at to get this fixed properly?
I have played with the TCC lock/unlock vs TPS % tables, still not right. I have played with the TCC constant/scalers, TCC unlock threshold etc. It still isn't behaving properly. I don't want to drive it like this anymore because it locks/unlocks and its just hard on the convertor. If anyone can help guide me to get this one right, it would be much appreciated becasue everything is just about right, this is really just left.
Thanks in advance!

In the Tuning Guide Book sticky, chapter 5, '8063/'7747/'8746 section. There is a write up on the TCC logic. Explains how the code works. One thing to watch for is the lock/unlock tables. Make sure that they have the correct titles to them.

Alright, I got it working a little better, but it still is not exactly right and I am getting fed up with it.
Is there anyone that has a bin for an 89 TPI LB9 Auto wher I can compare the TCC values to see if I can get it to perform like stock and go from there. I am using the ANZA bin and don't want to change from this, I have tweaked it and it is runnning really really well...its just the TCC. If anyone has a stock bin for this, I would really REALLY appreciate this. I want to drive this car, but cannot until this is fixed.......

Mike has a bunch of '89 A4 BIN on his site:
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/
If your transmission has ever been rebuilt or replaced it may have the wrong 4th gear switch in it. That would cause the 4th gear tables to be used in 2nd & 3rd, then the low gear tables to be used in 4th. In this case just need to flip an option bit in the cal.

Thanks RBob, for the info. I have been playing with it, and with the bin I got off of Mike(Thanks Mike), thee TCC locks just as it should. I load up all those values in the ANZA bin and now I get absolutly no lock up whatsoever. I did dotice though, in the "flags" info when the car is running I watch the trans. Info and with the ANZA bin the Overdrive Requested states approxmatily the right time it should lock up, but it doesn't. On the other stock bin, tHe Trans info states the exact opposite, meaning where it states "Overdirve Requested", it states yes and when it locks up, it states no, but its locked up and working properly. Does this seem familiar, is there info that is placed inccorectly? I cut and pasted/checked/unchecked each one to make sure they were the same, but no go....
