The 2009 East Coast F-body Nationals will be held at Island Dragway in Great Meadows, NJ on Sunday, August 9th. You don't have to wait around for the main even to get out to the track though, we will be kicking the weekend off with the traditional F-body vs. Mustang action on during Island Dragway's Friday Street Night on August 7th.

While the action on the track and show field will be all about GM's pony car platform, everyone is welcome. As with all of our great NJFBOA events it is open to all owners, friends, and fans of the F-body platform.

Island Dragway is close to where I live, it's the track I go to on Fridays.
Just finished my Trans Am, it's got the potential to do low 12's high 11's pending on traction. I'd rather run my IROC, not sure if it will be done by then; we estimate the new mouse can put out an easy 550 to the wheels.
I'm sure I'll see some of you in the street bracket, hopefully I have my new tires by then and get a little better with the T5.

Re: 2009 East Coast F-Body Nationals
I was there tonight (the really loud flat black trans am), didn't actually compete. First time running the car at the track only got two runs in before I blew a gas line off the fuel pump. It really fell apart on me tonight, ring and pinion is shot so I one wheel peeled half way down the track and my clutch needs to be bled so it wouldn't go into gear. Ran a 16.4 spinning til 1/8th mile mark and a 17.1 without being able to get into 2nd and 4th gear (shifted from 1st to 3rd and 3rd to 5th).
Anybody show up? Some reason my tires didn't want to really heat up in the water box (does it fine on dry pavement 1-3 gear lol) and I didn't see them spray VHT on the track at all.

Re: 2009 East Coast F-Body Nationals
FBody vs Mustang was pretty good. Some impressive cars showed up, fastest guy ran a 9.4 at 144 MPH in his fox... I can swear he was chevy powered though.
I blew my rear up that night lol. Fastest fbody I saw did low 11's and the fastest LS1 only did like a 12.4. Not a bad turn out, I'd say their were easily 40 mustangs and about a dozen fbodies.

Rigged it up and got one more run in before I called it a night.
Kind of upset, didn't even get to bracket race
