Need help w/ steering column
Okay, I just re-installed a new steering column. Now I'm trying to connect everything back up. I can't for the life of me find out where this one this connects--it's a black cube, with like four terminals, and it has a white strip across the top if it. Where the heck does this go? Oh, and the wires that run from it end up running in the same harness as the ALDL terminal wires...
Secondly, I can't get the ignition cylinder to move into the "off" position when it is inserted into the column. It seems that the switch thing inside the column will turn to run or start just fine, but will not let the key cylinder turn all the way to the "off" position.
Lastly, I figured I'd try starting it, but no dice. Everything else works, so I;m hoping it's this damn mystery connector.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Someday, things will go smoothly, someday.

What color are the wires ?
The switch at the other end of the rod may be misaligned or misaligned where the cylinder goes in. Might even be a broke switch.

Okay, I figured out the key cylinder issue--I had the cable end in the wrong position, preventing the rod from aloowing the cylinder to go to off position.
Anyhoo, this mystery connector is cube-shaped, has five numbered terminals, and has green, blue, yellow, and dual purple wires coming from it. I still cannot find out where this might go.
The car still doesn't start, but I figure it may be that I messed up one of the VATS wires on the key cylinder. I'll have to check the sec. light and stuff tomorrow.
