No Juice
No Juice
2 weeks ago I had my battery go dead on me. And just a month before this happened. I replaced with a rebuilt alternator from a alt shop, and also a battery. not the best battery of my choice but it should do the trick, An exide. One weekend I did not even take my car out of my garage, it sat there all weekend, come Monday to fire it up dead nothing not even a sign of any juice at all =/ no stereo in car took it out. no doors left open kept them shut and locked like always, no rear cargo light left on. No light under hood. So basically nothing possible left turned on that Im certain of. So I pull the battery out pulled the alternator out. Took the alt over to where I had it rebuilt. they checked it and showed me that it was good. Ok then it's the battery I hope. I take the battery back to Kragen and they put there tester on an it would not even show a sign of any juice. They send me over to another store to get a new battery. I put it back in the car new battery good alt. fire it up it runs OK good. back to same thing did not drive car any where come back battery dead
what in the world. take the battery back they test it. Said recharge :hail: they charge it back. I just let the battery sit in the garage on a piece of wood. to see if this battery is going to go dead by itself or what. So while a few days pass still not driving car any where I decided to Slap my Super Ram in car. two or 3 days later put the battery back in the car it fired up..Ok good car running but not ready to hit the street yet. unhook the battery cable over night just in case this same thing happens.next night after doing more stuff to the car I for got to unplug the cable, All be darn next day it was dead notta nothing what in the world is messing with me. I checked for bad grounds and found nothing. Car has been to the dealer it's whole life so every thing is untouched by any wire cutters etc more less. All my wiring is protected by the plastic stuff every where still. What would cause this? any ideas..

I've had a similar problem, except mine is carburated and no computer. so anyways I let it sit over the weekend, come back and go to start it up, nothing, try to jump it, nothing! I changed the battery. and later that night I noticed a light from inside the car! the choke light was on, no key at all. so I pull the fuse for the choke. well a few days later it started on fire and detroyed the console!!! anyways, I never figured out what it was, but the fire department said it was the radio, I think it was the wiring harness, specifically the brach that goes off under the radio cuz I've had other problems there, my parking light would stay on, switch off and everything, but somehow seemed related to the lights.... so anyways my advice is this: keep the battery out of the car when you are not around to watch it, the power is being drained somewhere, and it could possibly result in fire...
oh boy that's no good
when I 1st got the car 2 years ago, I almost caught it on fire by putting in a fan switch with out the proper ground an wire it was not a big enough gauge. Luckily I got all the wire cut out fast. and the power off the battery. Yeah this might be a tuff one to find. I for sure will keep the battery unpluged till i find the problem.. Thanks Alot
