LIGHTED INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR
I JUST FOUND THIS LIGHTED REAR VIEW MIRROR AT THE JUNK YARD TODAY. IT CAME
OFF OF A 86 BERLINETTA AND HAS 3 WIRES, ONE BLACK, ONE WHITE AND ONE WITH A RED STRIP ON IT. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA ON THE PROPER WAY I SHOULD HOOK IT UP. ON THE BERLINETTA IT WAS WIRED TO THE DOME LITE. I WOULDN'T MIND DOING IT THIS WAY BUT I JUST PAID A SMALL FORTUNE TO REDO MY HEADLINER(T TOP) AND DON'T WANT TO SCREW IT UP. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED. THANKS

I put one in my '88 but wired it into my dome light. The only other way I know to do it without going to the dome light is to come straight out of the fuse box out of the dome light or interior light fuse. If you're really careful, you won't have to take the headliner all the way off, just drop the front down a little. I feel your pain with the headliner, though. I'd hate to mess it up.

THANKS, I AM GOING TO TRY TO DROP THE HEADLINER A LITTLE IF I CAN SEE THE DOME WIRES. DO THOSE WIRES COME FOWARD DOWN THE CENTER RAIL TOWARDS THE WINDOW? IF SO I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT. OTHERWISE STRAIGHT TO THE FUSE BOX I GO.

Sorry for the delay w/ the reply. The wires run up the front door post on the left, behind the trim piece, over to the center of the roof, and then straight back to the dome light. Just be really careful pulling the front down. There are 2 or 3 plastic "pins" that help hold the front up and these break off easily. I'd try to find some extra replacements if you can just to have on hand. Orange, white, and ground. Simple to do and it helps a lot. I'm gonna put one in my '93 Silverado. Good luck.
