Does anybody know where I could get an LED strip to make a 3rd brake light out of? I've got one from a Mitsubishi Eclipse currently. It's about 15" long and has 40 LEDs on the printed board. I'd like something with around 120 to 150 LEDs in a row, and if it's got a slight curvature like this one, that would be even better. If I can find one cheaply I'd rather just buy it instead of make it.

Just for a little background, I've got a spare spoiler for my IROC and I've decided that I want to add a 3rd brake light that goes all the way across the spoiler like the trunks of the newer caddy's have. If this becomes cost prohibitive, I'll just make it with the 40 segment piece that I have, but hopefully I'll be able to come up with an inexpensive long one.

you know that some fiberglass lids dealers for pick-up trucks(on the bed) sell the spoilers with about 40 or 50 leds across for a third brake light. You might be able to get one from either the dealer or possibly a place like "lund" or something like that..
maybe this will help

 

Well you could look into the new Firehawk LED lights. They have it ALL across the spoiler like that. Maybe you could call SLP, pretend you own a new Firehawk and tell em some punk kids stole you LED light, and you want a replacement!

Hey Jza, do you know if any of those third brake lights are a direct fit for a 89 or 90 RS? my car has the third brake light, but lights are burnt out and the metal piece that has the 5 lights is all corroded, so im gonna try to replace the whole thing ...
i went to advanced auto parts.. each one of the five lights cost $6... screw that

 

Go to Radio Shack and pick up part number RS-2721177. It's the same light bulb for around $2.

While you're there get some electrical contact cleaner to take care of that corrosion.
