Rear Hatch locked close and stuck
My rear hatch started acting up right after I installed a stereo. It was opening, closing, opening, closing, etc. all on it's own, even when the car was off. So, I put a piece of cardboard between the hatch and the car to prevent it temporarily. After a while, the carboard fell out, the hatch closed, and locked itself. I cannot open it with a key or the button.
Crawling in the back behind the seat, I cut out the plastic to look at the motor. It is the kind w/o an "emergency" switch to open the hatch. It has a big silver piece that is a semi-circle on top, and looks like a gun barrel on bottom. There's one screw on it. How can I fix my hatch?

first check the fuse for the motor hatch see if it is getting power at the hatch, then un jam it some how and fix the wiring up front or back or if you did a custom wire job for your radio, fix problems.
