bypassing OBD I
bypassing OBD I
i'm wondering how hard it will be to bypass OBD I on an LT4 i'll be putting into my 89 GTA. I don't want to have to deal with the 02 sensors and computers not letting me start my car, plus i'll have a near-free flowing exhaust on it so that won't help an emissions control system =/
anyway it seems easier to put in a painless/dfi harness on the MSD 6AL and timing control box than to deal with the OBD crap ... anybody wire up a delete sequence to cut out the OBD system ?

if you want a backyard mechanic friendly low tech drivetrain and don't care about fuel economy, go with a 1970's 350 block with a holley double pumper.
an OBD I drivetrain is straight forward electronics wise to put into a thirdgen. OBD II is another story though, it has catalyst efficency and evaporative emissions monitors to contend with.
