Bought A soldering mat to put together the W/B O2 did I put it together right
Its really to late to ask this question because i have already put together two W/B 02 boards.
But just for future projects I need to know if I put the soldering mat together right. The mat came with the braclet and a ground strap. The ground strap has a Loop to secure it to a grounded screw on one side. On the other side it has a button. Also included with the Mat kit was the female side of the button.
I fastend the female side of the button to one corner of the mat then I snap the ground onto the button. Did I dO it right?

Sounds right. As long as the button thats connected to ground id mounted on the mat and the wrist strap os connected to the button it will work fine. The ones we use at work (F-18 radar shop) have the buttons perminantly mounted in the mat. We then have an adaptor with a banana plug for the wrist strap.

Thanks, I thought it was right, I didnt see any other way or doing it. The button is fastend to the mat with a screw and backing washer. The screw goes through the button, throug the mat and screws into the washer with threads.
Thanks Again

The mat & strap wire should also be tied to building ground.
