speed sensor question

I put a T56 in my 90 Formula and I haven't hooked up the speed sensor yet. My gas mileage is down and it won't idle until warm. My ses comes on about 5 minutes after start up and then goes off. Am I hurting my car driving it? Is there any other way to hook my speed sensor up without the dakota digital box?

If you know how to burn your own chips, there's a few settings to change. Otherwise, nope, you need a dakota digital conversion box. I wouldnt say you're hurting anything, but the computer does need to know the vehicles speed to keep itself happy and tuned correctly.
