Guages

Ok...I have an 82 Z28 LG4 Built Automatic... the previous owner of my car installed an aftermarket guage pod in my car with temp, oil pres. , and amps...My stock temp is missing its needle. Heres the deal... The only guage that works in the pod is the Oil pres. guage. The stock Amp guage works but not the after market. The temp guage doesn't work, but it is hooked to the thermostat housing. And none of the lights work in any of the aftermarket ones...Any suggestions on how to get all my guages working?

O.k, for the temp gauge there is another temp sending unit
on the drivers side of the block between the 1 and 3 spark plug wires. That should be the one to tap into to get the temp gauge working.
I believe I just read that the amp gauge is run off the 12V line from the blower motor, and that you should be able to tap into that from the fuse block.
As far as the lights go,there should be a seperate wire that powers the lights. If there is you have to figure out which wire it is on your gauges. Then you can either try to find a wire that gets power when the headlights are turned on, or you can just find a wire that gets power when the ignitoin is turned on.

Good luck!
