Headlight Actuator

My car has just fried a second headlight control module. It is always the driver side of the car that stops working. And when I open it up part of the relay is fried. I am guessing that the driver side actuator is drawing to much amperage and is killing the actuator. I have checked the wire between the actuator and the module and I have no resistance and no short to ground.

Does anyone know how much amperage the headlight control module should draw when raising and lowering the headlight?

Anyone have any other suggestions, these control modules are not cheap even used.

Back to the junkyard to see if I can find another one. This one worked for about 6 times raising and lowering the headlights before it died.

Oh yea its poped the main headlight fuse a few times also.

Thanks,

If you will turn on your e-mail function or give me an e-mail address, I will drop you the same schematics for your problem that I just sent Dan8289gta a few minutes ago.

Well I fixed the problem it turned out to be short to ground at the actuator but only when it was wet, the insulation had a small hole in it and well its fixed now. I "rebuilt" the control module to make sure I have all the issues fixed before I go and buy another one.

Triickester go ahead and send me the diagrams, they may come in handy later on.

Don 79 TA I was under the impression that 86 - 94 vett ones would work, I guess I should check that out.

Does anyone have a list of all the ones that are interchanageable with the 89 firebirds module?
