Gotta paper clip?
Check to see what codes are being thrown? Either take it to your local parts store or take a paper clip or a code key if you have one install on the (I believe) upper left two pins could be right, turn your key on engine off and count the flashes write down how many times the light flashes, ie. 1 time then 2 times is a 12 and so forth then call your local parts store and ask them what they mean.

Take your car into AutoZone (or similar place). They will run a check for error codes and tell you whats wrong. As talked about above, you can perform this ECM error code check yourself, and its true all you need is a paper clip.
I think that there is a tech article on this stuff.

Not trying to correct you
Trickster, I am not trying to correct you but at my Autozone which by the way is where I work we check codes for people on any car they bring in. Now true you can only read and tell the customer what the code means it is up to then to repair the problem and we always (in writing) tell the customer to take the vehicle to a certified ASE mechanic to both double check and repair what problems they find. Yes there are people who will try to sue you but Autozone maintains that we are there to help the customer not hinder him or her. In some areas they might be turned away if you have more people out to get a free ride or screw with you but at my store we try to help any way we can and we never tell the customer that this your problem let me sell you as part; always take the vehicle and get a qualified second opinion. I apologize if the stores in your area don't do this, it is a common courtesy here.

Bowtye101, I realize that you are not trying to correct me. If you will notice in my last post I did say most of these stores, not all of them. Also, I work at Advance Auto and we still do the checks and give the customer a print-out of the findings and explain it to them so they can tell their mechanic. Also as with your store, we get more than our share of shade tree week-end mechanics that love to throw new parts at a problem hoping it will solve and then bring the part back claiming it is defective and wanting their money back. True the situation will vary from location to location.
