How do you change a grounding switch, to a 12 volt signal. I will explain inside...
Ok so I have a WOT switch that shoots my N20, I just put in a digital 6 box that needs to see 12V at one of the wires to activate the retard timing. Problem is that my WOT switch grounds and my box wants 12V to that special wire.
I know I could just re-wire all the N20 wiring, but is there an easier way? Like somehow having a wire come off the WOT switch that gets grounded, then goes to a relay or something and sends out a signal of 12V?
Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can use a relay.

Any idea how it needs to be wired up?

Ground to the coil would be switched by your WOT switch, the N.O. contacts would signal your box.

Excuse me?!!!???
but
WHAT!??
You are saying I need to switch what is on my coil? Thats nuts, the car runs great right now, why would I switch the coil wires with the N20 trigger wires? That just makes no sense at all. In any way.
I just wanna know how you make a ground signal turn into a 12 V signal by using a relay. Like what wires go to what kinda thing.
The box is wired perfectly. Think is that I think I made my N20 come on with a ground and the box wants a 12V signal. So I want the ground signal that the WOT switch sends, to active the box. To do that it needs to see 12V.
Is this clear yet? I don't know why anyone would tell me to change what is attached to my coil.

Dennis, don't take this the wrong way but if you are unsure on how to wire up a relay, even with instructions, it would not be the safest thing for you to do anyway. I'd recommend getting an electrician to do it. If you were in my area, I'd offer to do it for you (yes, I am an electrician too) but you're too far.
It seems that you're putting a lot of effort into your car and I would hate to see it burned to ashes because of a wiring mishap. I'd rather see it eat rice and actually Corvettes too.
Safety first.

Not taking anything personally.
This is a message board and you don't know me so I can't really take anything personally.
With that said. I have wired my ENTIRE car. Not just the engine, or a headlight or something. I have done it all 100% from scratch. And installed my bottle heater, Ign. box, dizzy, motor, tranny, power windows, locks, radio and all with 100% zero problems. You definetly don't need to be an electrician to wire a car up. Go to my CD site and you will see my wiring job, welding job, installs and all in this car.
I am saying all this just so you don't tell me to go get someone else to do something to my car. I have built it from the ground up, essectialy a frame off resto job/ build up with NO auto training of any kind and the car drives great to work every day 3 years after starting the project and knowing nothing about cars.
Finally, can someone just answer my question with refrences to the #s on the relay? I know there is a coil in a relay. Geez. I guess I should have said sooner, but I am a mechanical engineer. I had to deal with relays in electronics classes.
Sorry for the long post, and if people need a more precise question, I guess can you tell me what the #s on the relay mean, in terms of which is th coil and so on. The rest I can figure out from there in 2 minutes.
Thanks.

this should help.........
If you have a switch or an alarm or keyless entry that has a negative output that you wish to use to switch a device that requires 12V+ such as a horn, dome light, parking lights, head lights, hatch release, etc., wire a relay as shown below to convert the negative output (trigger) to a positive output.

Cool, so you have some wiring experience. I didn't catch that from your earlier posts. But when you were asking about N.O. contacts and such, it sounded like you didn't know much about wiring. Now that we're clear on your skills, here's some info.
http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp
#85 and #86 are coil pins. #30 and #87 is what you'll use for your 12V trigger. Ignore #87a, that's the N.C. contact. Don't wire anything to it.
Put a FUSED 12V ignition source on #30 and #85. Then run the ground trigger from the WOT switch to #86 (this will actuate the relay). Then run a wire from #87 to the digital 6 box. It will see 12V when the WOT switch grounds the relay.
Hope this helps.

P.S.: Awesome, GTA_IN_T.O beat me to it and even posted the same link!

Re: How do you change a grounding switch, to a 12 volt signal. I will explain inside.
do you have an activation button that turns the entire nitrous system on? I have the same ignition box in my monte carlo in which my main arming switch turns on the system and sends the positive pulse to the digi 6 box. Then it goes to a relay. when my window switch goes off it sends the power to a second relay which powers the solenoids and the negative for that relay is hooked to the WOT switch so once the WOT clicks it's go time. Most guys will use a straight positive through switches for powering something liek I did. However I'm in the process of rewiring my entire electrical system in that car and have opted for all my toggle switched to switch off negatives. if you can give a really clear description of how you have your system set up I'm sure we can help.

Thanks for the help. The last few posts had all the info I needed. With the #s labeled for me, I can take it from here. Thanks guys, I will grab a couple relays today so I can get them in by the weekend. Thanks again.
