The A/C controls the coolant fan.. but not the A/C!
The only time my coolant fan turns on is when I turn on the A/C.. But the A/C itself doesn't turn on.. I've only had this car for a few months and its very clear to me that this car was disassembled and re-assembled by a monkey with down syndrome.. anyone have any ideas on this one?

The A/C won't engage the clutch until the low pressure switch closes. Either the switch is disconnected, defective, or the A/C system is actually empty.

Well going off of the dozens of cut wires I'm finding all over the car I'm going to guess that its disconnected.. Can you point me in the direction of where I can find this switch and how to test it? Sorry this is my first project car and I'm learning :-)

invest in a gm wiring diagram. you can either see if a dealership will sell you theres (they arent supposed to but u can use the reasoning of how often does a car taht is atleast 16 years old come in, and they have a different book for every year) or go on ebay cause some rouge mechanic for gm already stole it. they are a god send

The low pressure switch is on the drier body. It has two wires on it.
You can do a short test:
- turn the ignition on (do NOT start the engine)
- turn the A/C controls on
- under the hood, pull off the lower pressure switch connector and short the two wires with a paper clip
If the A/C compressor clutch engauges (you can see and hear it), the eletricals are good.
Hopet this helps.
