Mechanical to Electronic speedo swap

I have an 84 Trans am which has a gauge cluster with a mechanical speedometer. I have another gauge cluster from an 85-90 Trans am that has an electronic speedometer that i want to swap into mine. Is there anyway i can do this? And if so how do i go about doing it and what will i need to buy?

It might be more trouble than its worth. You will need an 86-89 2000 pulse per mile electronic speedo sensor for your 700R4. That will need to get wired to both your speedometer in the dash, AND the correct spot in your computer so it knows how fast you are going. That's all I know.

Yeah I wouldn't do it, the gauge cluster I think looks a lot better than the electronic one anyway. But its a lot of unscrewing to get down to the cluster, then you have to worry about all that wiring, take it to a mechanic.
