Oh the terrible hatch release...
Ok guys. Got a question for ya. I have a 91 Chevy Camaro RS V6 and I was wondering... is there a way to convert a motorized trunk release into a regular ol' manual one? I'm tired of the stupid thing malfunctioning. all the time so I figured I do away with it if possible. Thanks!

There were two styles of pull-dwn unit used in 91. It wil help someone to answer your question if they knew which you have. 86-early 91 has a metal frame (where it mounts with 3 bolts to the body). Later 91-92 style has a tan-colored molded plastic frame (where it mounts to with 3 bolts to the body). Of course I recommend repairing it rather than converting it to a slam latch.

Oh I see. I have the one with the metal frame. I think I'd rather fix it then besides trying to convert it. Thanks for your help, it's very appreciated!
