another newbie with a tach problem
another newbie with a tach problem
Got a deal I could not refuse on a super clean, low mileage 90 RS 5.0 coupe with one particularly annoying quirk: With the ignition off the tach needle is at redline. Turn the ignition on and needle swings all the way back to zero but jumps right back to redline and stays there by the time the vehicle is running. (doesn't move at all regardless of engine speed). Have done a little research on here and elsewhere but have not found a definitive answer. Do I need to start tracing wires again or is the tach itself shot?

Lack Of Tach
The driver PCB went bad.
Contact a salvage yard.
Plugs right in.
Happy Racing!
If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going BackwardsFog lights are not driving lights. They look dorky. Turn em off slow pokes.
How bout those dorks too scared to drive without headlights on in the daytime or if there is a little rain!
