LSX 427 HO

Good eve, I have a question that has been killing me to get answered. I have a LSX 427 HO and a stand alone wiring harness(M-90)..I will be putting it in a 91 RS camaro, previously had a RamJet 350 in it with a OBD 1 stand alone harness......I need to know what I do with the Coil wire that comes from the car harness, not the ECM harness..this LSX will have coil packs...It still has the connector on it that went to the coil....HOW should it be wired and yes I do have a aftermarket tach n stock(stock doesn't work)

The other thing is I used the LSX Procharger brackets for the frt of the motor, and the accessories they used to, Alternator was 06-newer vette-need connectors and how it wires into the 91 camaro harness...AC is for a 06-new vette-need connectors for pressure switch...and cut on/off and how to wire them, and the Powersteering pump is 97-04..

thanks for the help..

Re: LSX 427 HO

The old coil wire is IGN power directly from the switch on the column, aside from the fusible link on the starter, it is unfused so I wouldnt hook anything super important up to it. Generally I only put HO2s on it as they will melt the wiring before burning out from a surge

Use a relay for IGN power on a stand alone harness if you're not reusing the stock fueblock. IGN requirements should be taken care of with stock fuses though

You only need
INJ 1 (includes bank 1 coils)
INJ 2 (same for bank 2)
PCM (includes MAF)

All 3 are taken care of in the C207 near the old ECM

Most stand alone harnesses are meant to be put in anything from a test stand to a boat with minimal hookups, commonly only 3 and use a small fuseblock and relay center

Re: LSX 427 HO

Yeah I plan on using the stock fuseblock, but the motor harness comes with its own fuse block too...
What was HO2 meaning...

so really the coil ING wire could be terminated then...but could be used with a fuselink...if can be used for that what amp fuse should I run

It looks like I need to find out what these connectors look like!

Re: LSX 427 HO

I'd love to see in-process pics, as this build gets done.

Re: LSX 427 HO

For a 91, there will be an emissions wire from the C100. It is PNK/BLK and carries fused 12v IGN. Hook your IGN relay here and dont use the old coil wire

HO2 is for heated O2 sensors

Refer to LS1tech for the alt wiring. Im unfamiliar with newer 3-4 wire alt connectors. The old Fbody (one wire) and truck (two wire) alts were simple since they were dedicated circuits to the PCM. LTx and laters require a mix of resistors and other fun bits

The PS pump needs no wiring to function

AC line pressure switch use the TPS style connector. Find one in a JY or PM me, Ive got a pile

3rd gens used a single AC request wire from the HVAC headunit. LTx/LSx swaps are the same. Since you are using 06 and newer parts, Id assume the PCM is also newer so specifics I cant help with
