no dash lights?!?!?!?

86 firebird 2.8 auto...when i turn on the headlights my gauges don't light up, my clock goes dark (factory tape deck), my right turn signal indicator is illuminated (not flashing) and very dim...i took the dimmer switch apart and it looks fine...I've had this problem before and replacing the melted dimmer switch fixed it...all fuses good...bad ground? blown cluster bulb? all help appreciated...thanks

Re: no dash lights?!?!?!?

Dim bulb that is not supposed to be on is usually a bad ground.

Found Ground

The grounds are located on the convenience center bracket.

The convenience center is located behind the knee bolster.

The convenience center contains a flasher (just to help you identify it).

You might have a cracked circuit board trace (difficult to see).

You might have a loose or dirty contact on the connector(s) for that circuit.

When you see fog or “running” lights on in good weather beware. Low performance driver ahead.

How bout those nitwits too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime and the nitwits that need headlights for a little rain

Re: Found Ground

I have a question. This is sorta related. So my headlights work but none of my dash lights or the fog lights work. Any ideas what happened? I assume this happened after I was doing spins in the rain . I checked all fuses I found one blown (didnt fix the problem so i dont know what it did) none others are bad. Could it be the dimmer switch?
