Car won't always start first try.

So I'm assuming this is an electrical problem but occasionally when i turn the key it won't start and sounds like the batteries dead. I turn it a few more times though and it will start right up. Its not always the case though as most of the time it will just start on it's first try. Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this?

It Will Always Start On The Last Try

sounds like the batteries dead.
Are you trying to say — it cranks slow — or not at all.

Sorry it's a 1991 Camaro rs v6, Battery should be good still it's less than a year old and I wouldn't think it would start at all if the battery were bad.

Re: Car won't always start first try.

As NINA is trying to get at, what do you mean by " sounds like the batteries dead" Tell us what happens. Is there any sound? Does the engine turn over slow, or not at all? Any clicking? When you are trying to start it do any of your gauges(ammeter) do anything?
Help us help you by giving more information. Thanks

It won't crank at all. I turn the key it makes a click and then nothing. Didn't see if any of the gauges happen to do anything but when it happens next ill be sure to pay attention to them.

Re: It Will Always Start On The Last Try

On this page there is a starter circuit diagnostic link.
There is also a link for wiring diags for almost all 3rd gens.

Could be an issue with your Ignition Switch (not the key cylinder), Starter Enable Relay, Neutral Safety Switch, starter wires, or any connection inbetween.
