head light motor question before I replace the motor

just to let everyone out there know again, I have an 88 formula 350 I bought a month ago, it has been sitting a couple years before I got it and things are failing on me (due to sitting I think) anyways I just got my tail lights, doorlocks, radio etc working properly in the short time Ive had it. Now the left headlight doesnt always pop up all the way or at all sometimes but the head light comes on, everytime I turn the lights back off I can hear the motor (trying to shut the headlight I assume) winding about 5 seconds after the the headlight door has already shut. It will even make this sound if I just turn the park lights on and then back off, I have a known good extra headight off my 87, should just changing it fix it or do you guys think there might be more to it with the motor winding? Thanks for any input!
