hey guys now that i have the hatch releasing by the switch wich is great as it never worked in over 8 years i had pulled the fuse for the trunk itself for now.. the issue i have is that when i put the fuse in it it dont go up or down and need a way to figure that out i knoe that theres a comon ground on the rear trunk cargo light as it works fine then i move the little black joint coneector and light goes off so i figured i had an issue in there but there a diode or something rather that the terminals are loose what exactly is that little thing ? and can i replace it ? is this the issue for the hatch not working?and what else should i be looking for to make the hatch work ?

all information would be great and appreciated thanks for reading

Got a pic of this "diode" thing? Is it square? If square, with 4-5 wires to it, it's the hatch release relay.

 

i dont have a pic but it has 3 wires going through a plastic cover and the wires are all black it is the gound side of the cargo light

 

sorry the wires are white and according to the wiring diagram i have the should be black

and one wire from the cargo light is black and orange and turns to white through a connector thenin to this diode of sort then one end goes to the relay and that wire is white as well and the other wire that is white aswell goes to the 4 wire plug that goes to my hatch realease itself
