Hey guys,

been under the dash of the car most of the day getting the old busted matrix housing out, ive got a full replacement here to go in. There were a few things wrong with mine after i managed to get it all out, the 2 vaccum flap things that open and close were totally busted and just flap about, the large plastic cover that goes over the matrix part itself was missing, and once that was out the way i realised why no air was going inside the car, theres a flap thats also vaccum controlled which is infront of the blower fan, that was shut and wouldnt open ! the orange tube seemed to have a big kink in it and was flattened, so ive cable tied the flap all the way open.

However this is the problem, i thought great thats sorted now the air can get up through the vents to demist the windscreen, but i tried it and theres very little air coming through still ?!?! i put my hand around the blower housing in the engine bay and i can feel air coming out at a fair speed from little nooks and crannies in the housing, is this fan spinning the right way ? its only got one push on connector so i dont see how it could be spinning the wrong way but im stumped, theres still no air blowing into the car ??

 

ive been working on this again today, ive been told the blower motor is supposed to be like that, but that doesnt make any sense ? surely i should feel air blasting out under the dash ? or how the hell is it supposed to demist the windscreen.

ive also noticed that where the hole is in the firewall for the blower motor to blow through, its not actually going into the heating section ? if it were working i think the air would just go straight forward under the dash and maybe heat the passenger side kick panel up and not much else ??? or does the air magically go sideways somehow
