No start question

Hey guys, I have a question... My FB had a super
loose steering column so I paid my mechanic 90 bucks to pull it out and repair it, he even fixed the horn bracket, which is a plus, he put it back together and it started up, I then drove the 20 min home, everything seemed good, I didn't push her hard nor turned the wheel overly hard, when i got to my drive way I swung wide to the right and turned hard left , as soon as I hit my driveway it shut off, no sputtering, no initial loss of power, no warning. The oil Is full and new, new plugs and wires, all new AC, within last 30 days, it's never stalled or not started before this, I can hear the fuel injectors engaged when the key is turned, there's only 2 things that were different in the last few days prior to this ... Few days ago a lifter started making noise, and both of my headlight motors stopped working all together . However after the car died I noticed my lights now work fine lol , could the wires for the security system be the issue? The security light blinks when turning the key but it's not on constant. She turns over fine, doesn't struggle, but doesn't feel like it's trying or even wanting to catch. I thought the fuel guage was broke so i put 5 gallons in and Nadda.. Now she sits across the street all sad and alone...

Alllll alone

Re: No start question

Do you get a crank at all?

If not the the mechanic may have messed with something related to the VATS. That's really the only reason the security light would come on. I think the stall would be unrelated. If the VATS fails the light comes on, but it wouldn't shut the car down. You just wouldn't be able to restart it. I'd say make sure he plugged the VATS wire at the base of column tight. You could also try adjusting the tilt up and try starting. If all else fails do the VATS bypass. This system is a real pain and on this age of a car very unreliable.

Re: No start question

It will still crank just fine .. I guess that means the Vats, isn't the cause

Re: No start question

This may sound too simple but have you tried putting some starting fluid in the intake?
