Slow speedometer

The speedometer in my 91 Trans Am is acting up
Sometimes it doesn’t work for like 10 miles ..........
Needle just doesn’t move then just starts working
Odometer is also not regestering like it should.....
It’s turning slower than normal........
Is this a cable driven speedo or electronic...??
Thank you

Car: check
Engine: check
Transmission: check
Re: Slow speedometer

It is an electronic speedometer, no cable from the transmission.

If it is a TPI the ECM buffers the VSS and sends it on to the speedometer. If TBI there is a 4-out buffer box to do this.
