Rear Hatch unlocking on its own 90RS
Ok guys I could really use some ideas on this one. I have a 1990 RS V6 that I have been working on for a few months. I replaced the rear hatch motor and guides do to the typical issues with failure to close issues. Everything has been working fine for a couple of months. The hatch closes and pulls down without any issues. for the past couple of days I've come home to find the rear hatch has raised up to the unlock position on it's on. This car doesn't have a rear hatch switch, I've checked and made sure the harness doesn't have any shorts. The ground circuit seems solid. I have no idea what could be causing this. The car is locked in a garage so my first thoughts of attempted breakin went right out the window. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a buyer coming to look at the car and need to get this fixed

It sounds like the reverser switch in the Pull-Down unit has come loose or is shorting.
To find out you can remove it and bench test it.

top down solutions would have a good idea on what parts it could be for the system. GM changed the hatch style and release methods so many times in these cars and it's not even well documented in the FSM...
