1969 Corvette "BUILT" 357ci SBC For SALE

I built the engine before Hurricane Katrina and have only put 74 miles on it before user error Caused it to have a minor failure. The engine was left undamaged but inoperable. Since then I have not been able to find the time to reassemble it, up until recently. The engine has yet to be tested or dyno'd but the first build tested in the range of approximately 450 HP. I have since then upgraded some of its parts, but have yet to install them. A short list of it's highlights are as follows::

-1969 4Bolt block with an over bore of .40 over making 357ci
-Stock forged crank milled .10000 with bearings to match (installed)
-Eagle Powdercoated I-Beam Rods (installed)
-SpeedPro Flat-top hyper-eutectic .40 Forged Aluminum Pistons (installed)
-Chrome Molly Rings (all installed)
-No sleeves
-Engle Cam (unknown Lift/Duration) only because I lost the cam card six years ago (installed)
-Comp Double roller timing chain set (installed)
-041 Cast Stock heads with 3 angle valve seats and hardened brass guides and seats.
Don't remember the brand on Valves but I do remember they weren't cheap
-Edelbrock Airgap High-rise intake (Powdercoated black)
-Holley 750CFM Dual feed single pump Mechanical secondary 4BBL Carb
-Stock Melling oil pump with stock flow but high volume w/deep sump
-Moroso style oil pan that holds 10 Quarts (takes 11 Quarts to fill the engine)
- Scat Flexplate

A list of Parts that come with but are not installed as of yet are::
-NIB CompCams .292/501. hydraulic/Flat Tappet Cam set W/Lifters
-NIB Full copper head gaskets W/Silicone seal channels
-NIB FelPro Intake gasket set
-NIB Copper Header Gaskets
-NIB ARP Head bolts, Intake bolts, Exhaust bolts
-NIB MSD Distributor, Fully Converted for MSD 6AL Ignition System
-NIB MSD 6AL (chipped) Ignition System with manuals and wires (open/unused)
-New/Unused Holley Carb Fuel Pressure Regulator

I am trying to sell this engine and other components as a package deal but I will sell some of the components separate if need be.

I am looking for $4,500 OBO for everything, unless y'all think I'm asking way too much. I havent done any research recently and this list is from memory.

I would like for whom ever may be interested to let me know so I can send my number and answer any questions you may have.

BTW I'm Adam from Metairie, LA

You may want to reconsider your price range. An LS1 swap costs around what you want for it, and a stock LS1 will make probably around 150-200 more hp.

If you sell everything piece by piece you may get pretty close to what you want for it.

A 30 over 350 is a 355, a 40 over 350 is a 357.

Either way its probably only worth $1500-$2000 max. I race circle track and rebuilt 355's built like that with the double hump heads sell for $1500-$2000 max.

Based upon his approximation an stock LS1 will not make more power. But will get double or triple the gas mileage.

$4500? For an engine that doesn't run? Interesting.

What are the block/crank/head numbers/dates? Not doubting you, but if you really do have a 1969 Corvette motor, it's probably worth more to someone not on this forum (I mean that in the nicest way, no offense at all to this board). Otherwise it is basically a run of the mill 350 with some speed parts.

I made my own approximation based on the information he's given us.

There is a lot of value in that engine, a lot of good parts there, but as an assembled whole it's not very remarkable. That goes for 90 percent of Gen I engines, though.
