Corvette L98 aluminum cylinder heads. TPI 10088113 58cc 93k miles just removed

I just bought a complete L98 long block from a 1988 corvette. Corvette was totaled from behind last month. I just removed a nice set of super light weight 58cc cylinder heads that I am not gonna use.

Here are the specs I got from the net

Casting: 10088113
Material: Aluminum
Intake Runner Volume (cc): 163
Combustion Chamber Volume: 58
Valve Diameter: I: 1.94" E: 1.50" D" port exhaust
Screw in Rocker Studs
Pushrod Guide Plates

Any idea if it smoked starting up or had any other issues? Are all the threads good?

Not 100% sure. It was a friends Corvette, but I have not seen it for awile. I was thinkin of lapping the valves and putting on some new seals but then I would probably need to get $500 for them.

Hmmm.... peaking my interest.

Would you happen to know if these simply bolt on to an otherwise-stock '89 Firebird Formula 350? (I'm beginning to dig into my first engine build, and trying to decided when & where to spend money on it).

Do the vette valve covers come with them? I need the valve covers as much as the heads.

These heads will bolt right up to your engine. Only differences are increased horsepower, higher compression ratio, no egr.
I you want to retain an egr you need a corvette intake manifold which I also have.

I have the corvette magnesium valve covers as well but they are not included in this price.

I know these are sold, but these made me think.

I've always liked the look of the magnesium valve covers from the Corvette TPI motors... depending on price, would these be a decent upgrade for my 305 TPI? Other than some weight savings.... I assume the flow has got to be slightly better than the iron units on my motor now.....

You can put magnesium valve covers on any center bolt head like your 305 has.

Yes the aluminum L98 350 head will be a good improvement from stock. They would increase your compression and allow you to run more timing. This alone would increase horse power. They should flow better than stock 395 heads, I believe the valves are bigger but not 100% sure. I can also tell you they are about a third the weight of an iron head.

Thank You for your response. This sounds like a budget friendly, OE part upgrade I have been looking for
