Some details on the engine the carb was built for? I'd like to know what C&S was shooting for when they built it. It seems a little overkill for what I am doing...but I may be interested.

Re: C&S 900 Aerosol Billet Carburetor (blow thru carb)

Long answer can be found here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...-50-miles.html

Short answer:
390 forged SBC with around 9.1:1 comp ratio, F1 Procharger (also for sale), FMIC, was looking to push around 700HP @ 14 psi.

If you need more details just let me know.

Re: C&S 900 Aerosol Billet Carburetor (blow thru carb)

Your build is slightly more aggressive than mine. I have a 406 with 9.5:1 and I am planning on 12psi from a Vortech Si trim. Probably 600HP or a little less. Maybe I am interested.

You could call C&S and tell them what you are trying to do. You might be able to buy my carb, then send it to them for adjustment. Would cost much less than buying new, I would think.

Re: C&S 900 Aerosol Billet Carburetor (blow thru carb)

Interested in your F1 for sale. $? Also, I was reading up on a thread on the belt tensioner mod to eliminate belt slip. Did you do that and if so are you selling the bracket? I got my car almost finished and on the dyno my D1SC shot up to 12psi @ 4k rpm then pretty much starting falling off as did my hp. I know belt slip is part of it, but ATI said I needed an F1A and move up to a 12-rib. I want 15psi to hit my numbers and it needs to be there at 6200. ATI said my motor is breathing too good for the D1SC...guess that ain't a bad thing except the $$$ needed to push it up

Re: C&S 900 Aerosol Billet Carburetor (blow thru carb)

Hey REBSTA, yes the F1 is for sale. I just have not got around to listing all the things I am selling from my SBC setup.

The F1 was bought like new from a guy that used it for mock up. Never had oil in it. So basically new. I didn't trust him so I sent it to Procharger and they confirmed it had never been spun under load.

I installed it, drove it for 50 miles and then parked the car. (House and wife later). Still only has 50 miles on it. Now deciding to go LS3 and more of a cruiser setup.

New the head units retail for $3,400. I can do $2,900 OBO. I think that is a pretty good deal since it is basically new. Been kept in my spare bedroom since I pulled it off the motor.

We can work out shipping if you are interested.

I also have a 3.4" 12 rib pulley and a 4.2" 12 rib pulley, as well as the 7.6" 12 rib crank pulley. All for sale. Each pulley cost me around $100 so each will be $75. They are also all basically new (50 miles). The larger has maybe 10 miles on it, same with the crank.

I have belts as well, I can take measurements and list prices later. I couldn't find the exact length I needed at one time so I was going to try to run 2 6 rib units. I have those to sell as well.

To answer your question about bracket flex, I don't have the bracket stiffener items you mentioned. I ran mine on a TPI serpentine setup. I did get a mack truck diesel tensioner that poeple have talked about swapping. It is spring loaded, my tensioner was fixed. That will also be for sale. I need to look up how much I paid for it. I never mounted it up. So it is new.

Let me know if you are serious about the head unit and we can talk. You can send me a PM with your cell and we can talk over the phone if you want. This is not chump change so talking directly would be best I think. Let me know. Sounds like we may be able to work something out.
