v-groove pullies
Removing power steering, leaving only the water pump and alternator on my 91Z, and would like to switch to v-groove pullies (cheaper belt).Could I use pullies from an earlier 3rd gen? Don`t want to change alt. speed,so I assume I`d need a matched set.Any suggestions appreciated!!

When I did my swap from 2.8 to 400 I used the pulleys from an 82 g2500 van I had laying around. By using the set from a known application you can just get an alt belt that fits that one. Made buying belts very easy. Also, if you use the p/s brackets from that van setup header fit is much easier. You only need about a 3/4" spacer in the front header bolt to attatch upper bracket.
