What do you recommend for a swap?
Ok i have a 91 Rs and it came with a 3.1L V6. Since there is undoubtedly no way to make that hit 400hp N/A I was wondering what everyone recommends for a swap. My goeal will be 400+hp N/A. I'm looking for something somewhat easy, I klnow I need the harness and ECM and blah blah blah, but what's the easiest with the least amount of modification for the body and whatnot. Thanks in advance!
The man speaks the truth. You tell him kevinc. If youre hell bent on keepin that car, you cant go wrong with a 350, although the extra cubes of a 400 are nice. A small block is a small block is a small block, so you could stroke the 350 to 383. Although if you were gonna go that route then you might as well go after a stroked 400. That'd get you 427 cid, and with good heads/carb you'd be cookin. Course then you might as well get an aluminum sb 427, and then for reliability you could get a good aftermarket mpfi, and then.....oh crap, i started dreaming again. Stick w/ what kevin said, or get a 350/400 cheap. Good luck

I'm definitely gonna keep the car, I got it for $935 with no rust and it runs great, so it's just cheaper to put in a new engine. I think I'm gonna go with the 350 or 305, probably 350 for obvious reasons. So now that I'm gonna get a sb 350, it a 350 a 350, meaning can i just use any 350 block and throw on the heads and TPI and all that? I know what parts I need and all and what I'm gonna get, but can I use any 350 block or do I need a specific one to fit into my car? I was pretty sire that all 350s had the same mount positions, correct me if I'm wrong, and If I am wrong please recommend the years or casting numbers that I should be looking into. Thanks again.
