V6 is gone

Ok, we got the 2.8 out at 11:00 last night, and it was not too bad. Now for my questions. All that was on my tranny was one wiring harness with 2 or 3 wires on it. The tranny that is going in is a 400 turbo. Will I have to mod something in order to use my stock speedo? also, should I use the motor mounts that are with the 350 now, or would it be better and easier to just buy a new set of mounts. Thanks in advance.

You can use the ones on there already as long as they are not broken.

Buy New Mounts! They are cheap..and a real PITA to change later.

I Agree, Get a new set while the motor is out, You would be surprised how a new set can sometimes take away annoying vibrations if nothing else!

The motor mounts on the engine are just slabs of metal and unless they are cracked or severely damaged you should reuse them. The mounts on the cross-member, however, are not compatible with a V8 engine and need to be swapped out (you will also have to move the passenger side front brake line). The frame mounts should be replaced with new pieces while the engine is out because they wear over time.

thats good because the v-6 engine mounts (clam shells) wont fit the v-8 frame mounts......QwkTrip, The engine mounts are different size..
